Equity Mutual Fund Inflows Decline For 4th Straight Month In April 2025, Shows AMFI Data

    May 10, 2025

    Last Updated:May 09, 2025, 13:20 IST

Equity Mutual Fund Data April 2025: Equity mutual fund inflows drop to record low amid the geopolitical tensions and trade war turmoil.

Equity fund inflows drop 3% month-on-month in April 2025.

Equity fund inflows drop 3% month-on-month in April 2025.

AMFI April 2025: The attraction of equity markets continues to dampen in 2025 as the inflows in equity mutual funds dropped for fourth consecutive month in April to Rs 24,269.26 crore, reflecting a 3.24 per cent month-on-month decline from Rs 25,082.01 crore inflow in March 2025.

Equity-oriented open-ended mutual funds continued to witness robust investor participation in April 2025, garnering net inflows of Rs 24,269 crore, said Himanshu Srivastava – Associate Director- Manager Research, Morningstar Investment Research India.

While this marks a slight decline of 3.24% compared to Rs 25,082 crore in March, he added, the quantum of flows remains significant, especially in the backdrop of a challenging global landscape and escalating geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22.

With market uncertainty, lump sum participation seems to be come down as investors are probably taking a waiting approach to fresh investments. Volatility is an investors friend and continuing to invest through SIP / STP would be the prudent approach at such times, said Manish Mehta, National Head – Sales, Marketing & Digital Business, Kotak Mahindra AMC.

The net assets under management (AUM) also rose continuously in April to Rs 183,133 crore from Rs 175,724 crore in multi cap fund. The AUM of large cap fund also increased to Rs 374,520 crore in April.

Flexi cap fund saw a substantial net inflow, with funds mobilized increasing from Rs 9,249 crore in March to Rs 10,026 crore in April.

Overnight debt fund inflow turned positive to Rs 118.656 crore in April, as compared to a negative outflow of Rs 133,034 crore in March.

The increase in net inflows and the launch of new schemes suggest growing investor confidence in both equity and debt markets.
