    Credit Suisse: pas de prison pour le banquier des «tuna bonds»

    Surjan S. encourait entre 46 et 57 mois de prison aux Etats-Unis. Pourquoi? Cet ancien cadre, déjà sanctionné en Grande-Bretagne, a joué un rôle central dans le scandale dit des «tuna bonds» au Mozambique, l’une des multiples affaires dans lesquelles Credit Suisse a été impliqué. Bien que reconnu coupable, Surjan S. ne fera pas un jour de prison aux Etats-Unis.

    Dans le détail, le désormais ex-banquier était accusé d’avoir empoché 5,7 millions de dollars de rétrocommissions dans cette triste histoire, rappelle Bloomberg. On parle d’un système de prêts secrets de 2 milliards de dollars mis sur pied par Credit Suisse et une banque russe entre 2013 et 2014. Les bénéficiaires de ces crédits étaient des sociétés étatiques mozambicaines censées financer une flotte de navires pour la pêche au thon – d’où le nom de l’affaire – et des équipements de surveillance.
