Benefit concert raises funds for Highlands Health Clinic

    August 24, 2025

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Two national touring acts and a hometown band came together on Saturday to make music and raise funds for the Highlands Health Clinic.

Grammy-nominated Maggie Rose and Karina Rykman performed individual sets at Peoples Natural Gas Park after Jeff Perigo & Friends, a local band, served as the opening act.

Not only was there a live audience, but the annual concert was also streamed on volume.com, where viewers could donate to the cause.

“It’s an important event because it helps us to raise the additional monies we need to help the most vulnerable patients that we have – those who are uninsured and underinsured,” Highlands Health Clinic Executive Director Rosalie Danchanko said. “It helps them with medications and procedures, but all-in-all it ensures that they have affordable health care.”

Danchanko added, “You want to have a good time.

“I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, ‘It’s not only a fundraiser; it’s a friend-raiser.’ The music brings in people that don’t normally know about Highlands Health. And, as a result, we’re able to promote, market and make people aware of the need.”

Heritage Johnstown, which owns the venue, helped put on the event and bring in Rose and Rykman, who both previously played at the AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival.

“It’s a really amazing thing to be able to partner with the Highlands Health Clinic to present a show of this caliber to the Johnstown community. It truly is a wonderful show for a wonderful cause.

“We’re really excited about this particular double bill.”
