Nigel, Carl, and Jay will participate in the event to support Dawn Ayim, a well-known Swindon resident battling Stage 3 bladder cancer.
Her condition has sadly spread to her spine.
The trio, sponsored by Emerald Windows and Doors, aim to honour Dawn’s fight against the illness and raise funds for her continued care.
A GoFundMe page, set up by her family, has been launched to raise £5,500, with all proceeds going to Prospect Hospice.
The hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses.
The runners have already raised nearly £3,000 through community events, with the total currently standing at £3,741.
By participating in the half marathon, they hope to increase donations to the GoFundMe campaign.
The GoFundMe page, which can be found at gofundme.com/f/for-those-we-all-hold-close-to-our-heart, is open for donations from anyone wishing to support their effort.
The runners hope to not only raise funds but also awareness for the compassionate care provided by Prospect Hospice to patients like Dawn.
