This mutual fund has turned ₹10,000 monthly SIP into ₹4.27 lakh in 3 years

    September 15, 2025

A monthly investment of ₹10,000 in Franklin India Balanced Advantage Fund since its launch in September 2022 has grown into ₹4.27 lakh by August 2025, compared with the total contribution of ₹3.6 lakh. Over the same period, a lump sum investment of ₹1 lakh would be worth ₹1.42 lakh, according to the fund house.

The fund, an open-ended dynamic asset allocation scheme, has completed three years with assets under management crossing ₹2,700 crore.

It has generated a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.54% as of August 29, higher than its benchmark NIFTY 50 Hybrid Composite Debt 50:50 Index, which returned 10.19% CAGR.

The fund uses an asset allocation framework that adjusts equity and debt exposure based on valuation indicators. Within equities, it follows a flexi-cap approach, allocating across large, mid, and small-cap companies.

The scheme is overseen by a team of six managers and allows systematic investments starting from ₹500 per month.

Analysts note that compounding works best over longer investment horizons. While short-term returns may appear attractive, the benefits of systematic investments, as well as products such as ELSS, PPF, and insurance-linked savings, are most visible over multi-year cycles.

Premature exits or interruptions in contributions can reduce potential long-term gains.
