Four lucky Premium Bonds holders win £100,000 each on their first draw

    February 4, 2026

Premium Bonds are a savings product by National Savings & Investment (NS&I)

Four lucky Premium Bonds savers have won £100,000 prizes after purchasing their winning bonds only in December.

Their bonds were only eligible for the February 2026 draw onwards, as you have to own them for a full month for them to be included. One of the £100,000 winners purchased a £50 bond in December 2025.

They live in Essex and hold £19,150 in total in Premium Bonds. The second winner lives in Brighton and Hove and their winning bond was worth £13,000. They hold £38,025 in total in Premium Bonds.

The final two £100,000 winners hold £50,000 each in Premium Bonds. One lives in Cheshire and the other lives in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

There are two £1million Premium Bond prizes handed out each month. One of the big winners in the February 2026 draw lives in Liverpool, while the other is located in Central Bedfordshire.

Premium Bonds are a savings product by National Savings & Investment (NS&I) but instead of getting a set rate of interest back on your money, you are entered into a monthly prize draw.

The smallest monthly prize is £25, and the biggest is £1million. However, winning a prize every month isn’t guaranteed – and there are far more smaller prizes given out, versus the bigger sums.

There are usually thousands of £25 prizes given out and just two £1million prizes. The maximum you can have saved in Premium Bonds is £50,000 and for every £1 invested, you get a unique bond number.

The odds of a bond winning each month are 22,000 to 1 for every £1 bond. If you win a prize, you should be emailed or sent a text message from NS&I.

You can then choose to have the money paid into your bank account, or reinvested into Premium Bonds. You can also use the NS&I online prize checker tool, or the Premium Bonds prize checker app, to see if you’ve won.

The prize fund rate – the nearest thing Premium Bonds has to an interest rate – is currently 3.60%. This has been the prize fund rate since the August 2025 draw.

The luckiest places for winning Premium Bond prizes were recently revealed in new data shared with This is Money. It showed 42 people living in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight scooped the second biggest Premium Bond prize of £100,000 in 2025.

Essex was the next luckiest location, where 37 prizes worth £100,000 were won last year, followed by Outer London where 32 people scooped £100,000 prizes. The £1million jackpot was won twice in Norwich and Cumbria in 2025.
