Buffalo Bills fans can invest in the new Highmark Stadium with ‘Bills Bonds’

    August 27, 2024

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — As construction on the new Buffalo Bills Stadium continues, you’ve got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in the stadium in Orchard Park.

You can now buy “Bills Bonds” from Erie County to help pay off its $250 million obligation to fund the project.

The minimum investment for individuals is $5,000 and you get interest back.

The bonds will be available for one day only on September 23, the day before the bonds go on sale to outside investors.

These bonds are exempt from federal and state taxes.

“It’s always a good idea to by municipal bonds,” said Lisa Walsh, Private Wealth Advisor at LJW Wealth Management of Raymond James in Buffalo. Raymond James is one of the firms that can help you buy a Bills bond.

Walsh said if you are in a higher tax bracket, a municipal bond can be beneficial, but if you’re in a lower tax bracket you’ll want to talk to a financial advisor first.

Lisa J. Walsh, CPWA®, CEPA®, of LJW Wealth Management of Raymond James can be contacted at 716-768-5485, or you can learn more on herwebsite.

The Erie County Comptroller’s Office is offering for sale to the general public #BillsBonds it is selling to pay for a portion of our new @BuffaloBills‘ stadium construction costs. You can buy these bonds and earn a steady stream of interest. Learn more:https://t.co/0tStaLdm3u
