The Newton School Board is set to discuss and possibly finalize the issuance of $9,500,000 of School Infrastructure Sales, Services, and Use Tax Revenue bonds during their meeting tonight. The money would go to school additions and renovations as the district continues to move towards having just two elementary buildings to start the 2025-2026 school year. A summer school recap will also be presented to the school board. Kindergarten through 4th grade Instructional Coach Jen Elbert will be providing the information. The first reading of a Student Transportation Eligibility Policy is also on the agenda. Tonight’s Newton School Board meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the District’s Administration Center at 1302 First Avenue West.
