Virtus Investment Partners has joined a list of asset managers that have applied for a relief that would allow them to offer ETF share classes of their mutual funds.
Virtus has applied for the exemption across both its active and passive funds. The firm has 72 mutual funds with a combined $48.1bn in assets under management as of June 30. The firm also offers 18 ETFs. The firm’s overall AUM is $178.1bn as of July 31.
The application was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Wednesday, bringing the total number of firms that have applied for this exemption to 19, including the likes of Fidelity and Franklin Templeton.
