Boost for Walsall Manor Hospital maternity discharge lounge after funds raised for redevelopment

    August 17, 2025

More than £1,700 was raised thanks to the Make A Will Fortnight appeal, which saw Well Wishers charity teaming up with local solicitors Enoch Evans.

This partnership has been running for seven years and sees Enoch Evans Solicitors offering time and expertise to support people in getting their affairs in order, with donations benefitting the charity.

As part of this initiative, Enoch Evans Solicitors waived its standard will preparation fee in exchange for donations to the charity, and the campaign successfully raised a total of £1,730 for Walsall Manor Hospital.

Richard Neea, partner and head of the Wills, Tax, and Probate Department at Enoch Evans, said: “I am very proud to support Well Wishers through this collaboration.

“We have a very long-standing relationship with the hospital and its dedication to improving community services in Walsall.”

Over the years, the partnership between Enoch Evans Solicitors and Well Wishers has enabled projects including the refurbishment of a sensory room for children with special needs and disabilities, along with the provision of virtual reality headsets for young adults.

More than £1,700 has been raised for a project to redevelop the Maternity discharge lounge at Walsall Manor Hospital.

Georgie Westley, fundraising manager, said: “The Make a Will Fortnight initiative has aided the upgrade on the maternity unit.

“The funds raised will greatly enhance the lounge where mums wait for their transfer home, making the area a more relaxing environment with new wall graphics, furniture, TV, drinks area.

“A huge thank you to Richard and the team for running the initiative again and supporting us.

“We’re looking forward to this year’s Make a Will Fortnight which will run from November 3-14.”

Enoch Evans has also recently signed up to become one of the charity’s corporate sponsors.

Richard Neea said: “We’re delighted to become corporate partners of Walsall Well Wishers, building on our long-standing relationship and ongoing support for the charity.

“At Enoch Evans, giving back to the local community is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to support a cause that makes such a meaningful difference to so many.”
