KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Heritage Legacy Fund in Kalamazoo hosted a gala Thursday night to support funding for those living with Alzheimer’s.
It was their eleventh-annual gala fundraiser, and this time with a Hollywood twist.
“We get such a great response from local residents, or local families here in in Kalamazoo, who want to support the cause,” President and CEO of Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Julie Deppner said. “Many of them have had parents, or even grandparents, who have lived here at Heritage…Our staff is here to support the legacy fund but it truly is just something that’s really passionate for so many people to be able to take care of our seniors.”
News Channel 3’s Kirk Mason emceed Thursday night’s event.
Proceeds from the gala go towards the Heritage Legacy Fund to support seniors in Kalamazoo.
Additionally, the annual “Walk to end Alzheimer’s” will be held in Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
The fundraising event happens in more than 600 communities, nationwide.
All funds raised during the walk will go towards the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
