Midnight Walk will raise vital funds for St Helena Hospice, and marks 40 years of hospice care in north east Essex.
Marcus Poston, partnerships fundraising manager at St Helena Hospice, said: “Midnight Walk is a fantastic chance to stay out late having wholesome fun with friends, family or colleagues, all while raising money for St Helena Hospice in its 40th year.
“So put on your best ’80s style legwarmers and bold bright colours to light up the night and join in the fun.”
Hundreds of walkers are expected to take part in either the four-mile or 7.5-mile route, both starting and finishing at Stanfords on Wyncolls Road.
The event village, sponsored by MHA, will feature music, performers, food, and stalls.
Walkers will also pass the hospice on Barncroft Close in Highwoods, where they can pause to remember loved ones.
The event is open to over the age of 11, but under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Last year, 681 people took part, raising more than £70,000.
To celebrate 40 days until the event, those who sign up on Monday, August 18, and Tuesday, August 19, can get £3 off the ticket price using the code SHMNW40.
Midnight Walk is sponsored by Fenwick Colchester.
