ROCHESTER — Residents have the opportunity to weigh in on planned federally funded transportation improvements throughout Olmsted County.
A series of open-house events planned to provide information on the 2025-2028 Transportation Improvement Program being considered by the Rochester-Olmsted Council of Governments.
The program outlines how federal funds are expected to support transportation improvements in the Rochester-Olmsted County metropolitan planning area during the next four years.
The council, which includes representatives from county, city and township governments, is expected to review the plan at noon on Aug. 28, 2024.
Ahead of that meeting, which will include time for public comments, Olmsted County planning staff will hold two in-person open houses and two online events. They are schedule for:
- 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in-person in the Rochester Public Library second-floor meeting room, 101 Second St. SE
- 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday Aug. 26, 2024, in-person in the Rochester Public Library second-floor meeting room, 101 Second St. SE
- Noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, with an online link expected to be posted at the Olmsted County online meeting portal,
- Noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, with an online link expected to be posted at the Olmsted County online meeting portal,
The formal open comment period for the 2025-2028 Transportation Improvement Program will occur from Aug. 15, 2024, to Sept. 16. 2024. During the comment period, the public is being encouraged to submit written comments to Principal Transportation Planner Jarrett Hubbard at jarrett.hubbard@olmstedcounty.gov or by mail to 2122 Campus Drive SE; Suite 100; Rochester, MN 55904.
The program will be considered for adoption at the Sept. 25, 2024 ROCOG meeting, scheduled for noon at 2122 Campus Drive SE in Rochester.
