Walk ALS event in Pawtucket event raises funds for patient care and research

    August 25, 2024

PAWTUCKET (WJAR) — On Sunday, Slater Park in Pawtucket hosted Walk ALS, a community fundraising event for ALS United Rhode Island.

Participants walked the scenic loop around the Slater Park pond, played games and enjoyed snacks and music.

An ice bucket challenge station was open to guests as well.

The funds raised from the event go towards providing patient care and support, ALS advocacy, and supporting research initiatives.

The online fundraising will remain open until Sept. 30 after all virtual walks are completed.
