    Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has on Wednesday sought support of  Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Singapore for economic development of the State and upcoming new capital city, Amaravati.

    Naidu, who was on the last leg of his four-day trip to Singapore held discussions with key representatives from SMBC, Temasek Holdings, CapitaLand Investment (India) and Mandai Wildlife Group to attract investments to Andhra Pradesh across multiple sectors.

    In his discussions with Rajeev Kannan, Managing Executive Officer, SMBC, the Chief Minister focussed on investment opportunities in industries in AP including infrastructure, green energy and urban development and outlined strategic upcoming projects such as the Drone City, Defence and Civil Aerospace Corridor, planned for the Lepakshi and Orvakallu regions. 

    Sought support

    He sought SMBC’s support for green energy initiatives and the development of industrial corridors. Kannan expressed “keen interest” in infrastructure lending and clean energy investments, said a release.

    He had conversation with CapitaLand Investment (India) representatives Sanjeev Das Gupta and Gaurishankar Nagabhushan and the dialogue revolved around real estate projects, industrial parks, data centres , green buildings and digital townships.

    In a meeting with Dinesh Khanna, Joint Head, Portfolio Development and Corporate Strategy at Temasek Holdings, Naidu sought support for the growth of MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh. 

    Temasek Holdings showed enthusiasm to partner with the state government in promoting MSME development. The Chief Minister underscored the value of collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to accelerate progress. Discussions also covered the potential for joint venture projects across diverse sectors, the release said.
