    Quant Mutual Fund warns against fake accounts

    Quant Mutual Fund has warned against fake accounts through a public caution notice. It mentioned that some unscrupulous persons are claiming to be affiliated with Sandeep Tandon, CEO of Quant Money Managers Limited (“quant AMC”).The notice mentioned, “This is to notify the public that some unscrupulous persons are passing themselves off as or being affiliated with Mr. Sandeep Tandon, CEO of quant Money Managers Limited (“quant AMC”). They have been falsely impersonating and/or unauthorizedly appropriating parts of identity and photograph(s) of Mr. Sandeep Tandon on online platform (Datameer AI) and social media platform viz. WhatsApp groups/links, Telegram channels, Instagram channels, Linkedin etc (“Platforms”).”

    The fund house clarified that Sandeep Tandon is in no way associated with these platforms or the persons associated with these platforms and shall not be held responsible for any actions, agreements, or representations made by these individuals and or unknown persons.

    It stated, “We wish to inform the general public that Mr. Sandeep Tandon is in no way associated with these Platforms or the persons associated with these Platforms and shall not be held responsible for any actions, agreements, or representations made by these individuals and or unknown persons and disclaims all liability for any losses, damages, or other consequences resulting from such unauthorized actions by them or from the use of, reference to, or reliance on any information contained in such Platforms which are not authorized by Mr. Sandeep Tandon or quant AMC to use, publish or display such information.”

    Quant Mutual Fund also mentioned that these fake accounts are also showing that Sandeep Tandon, CEO of the fund house, holds directorships in other companies as well. However, his directorship is exclusively limited to the Quant Group of companies of which he is a founder.

    The fund house advised the public not to fall prey to these fake groups/phishing websites and to beware of such scams. The caution notice stated, “We urge the public to observe utmost caution, conduct due diligence and verify such Platforms or any other entity claiming to be affiliated with Mr. Sandeep Tandon or quant AMC. The public should take note of the above, as anyone who engages with the said Platform/fake groups, or any other platforms shall be at his/her own risks.”Quant Mutual Fund also mentioned that, “We kindly request the public to exercise caution and refrain from circulating any unverified information, web links, and/or Platforms. It is important to critically evaluate the credibility of such content before sharing or according it any legitimacy.”

    It further clarified that it has already filed a cyber complaint with respect to the matter and reserves the further right to pursue legal action against such impersonators and any parties found to be complicit in the impersonation and fraudulent activities.

    The investors were also informed that investments in quant Mutual Fund can only be made through RTA’s Official Acceptance Points (OPAs) and www.quantmutual.com.
