    Reliance Industries, IRFC, and Yes Bank among stocks that mutual funds bought and sold in September

    Mutual funds in September bought stocks worth Rs 182 billion in the Indian secondary market. The mutual fund managers actively manage the scheme portfolios and add or exit some stocks from their portfolios to deliver better performance. Here are the large, mid, and smallcap stocks that mutual funds bought and sold in September, according to the Mutual Fund Insights report by Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research.

    The key additions by the mutual fund industry were GE T&D India (Rs 42 billion), Infosys (Rs 32 billion), and Reliance Industries (Rs 26 billion) while the key reductions were from ICICI Bank (Rs 31 billion), Tata Motors (Rs 13 billion), and Divi’s Laboratories (Rs 12 billion).

    The top additions in the large cap space for three consecutive months were ITC, Life Insurance Corporation, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki and Axis Bank. The top reductions during the same period were Avenue Supermarts, Hindustan Aeronautics, IRFC, Cummins India and Solar Industries.

    In the large cap segment the new entry was Adani Enterprises and the mutual fund houses made a complete exit from IRFC.

    Mutual funds added these midcap stocks for three consecutive months – NLC India, IRB Infra Dev, Star Health & Allied, Go Digit GI and Sun TV Network. Top reductions were made from Indraprastha Gas, KEI Inds, Cholamandalam Fin, Kaynes Tech and Endurance Tech.

    The key additions in the mid cap segment were K.P.R. Mill (Rs 7.4 billion), Brigade Enterprises (Rs 7.2 billion), and PTC Industries (Rs 7.1 billion). The key reductions were Central Depositories Services (Rs 6.2 billion), Indraprastha Gas (Rs 4.7 billion), and Zee Entertainment (Rs 4.1 billion).

    Yes Bank was the new entry by the mutual fund in the midcap space.

    In the small cap space, mutual funds added G N F C, Arvind Ltd, Lemon Tree Hotels, Religare Enterprises and Epigral for three consecutive months. Key reductions were made from SFL Inds, CMS Info Sys, Latent View, Puravankara and Va Tech Wabag.

    The new entries in the small cap segment were Epigral, Suraj Estate & Rane Holdings. On the other hand, mutual funds made a complete exit from three smallcap stocks which included Jash Engineering, Sadbhav Engg. & TVS Supply.

    The key additions in the small cap space were Indigo Paints (Rs 9.6 billion), Shivalik Bimetal (Rs 5.7 billion), and Medi Assist Health (Rs 5.6 billion). On the other hand, the key reductions were Nazara Tech (Rs 1.5 billion), SFL Industries (Rs 1 billion), and Jamna Auto Industries (Rs 0.6 billion).
