‘Exciting addition’: Shoppers converge at Lehigh Valley’s newest supermarket | Eat, Sip, Shop

    July 19, 2024

EASTON, Pa. – A new destination for fresh meats, produce and other groceries in Northampton County welcomed its first customers on Friday.

Bravo Supermarket, a family-owned grocery store, held a soft opening Friday morning at 250 Line St. on Easton’s South Side, co-owner Grizel Mazariegos-Perez said.

The business will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Easton Business Association and local dignitaries at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23.

“Our first day is going really well,” Grizel Mazariegos-Perez told 69 News on Friday.

“A lot of people are coming out to shop and telling us how happy they are with the new store. So, we are just really glad and blessed to have so much support in the community.”

The new store is welcome news to South Side Easton residents as the community saw the closure of Easton Food Market – one of its few grocery options – last year.

Bravo Supermarket occupies the renovated space that was previously home to Easton Food Market.

“This is an exciting addition because the community’s been waiting for it,” Mazariegos-Perez said. “Everyone in that area has been looking for a supermarket, and we’re happy to be able to bring it to them.”

Mazariegos-Perez and her husband, Felix Perez, are no strangers to the local food and business scene.

The couple owns and operates Easton Meat Services LLC, a wholesale meat processing business in Easton, and they opened another grocery store, Bravo Meat Market, in late February at 1101 Hanover Ave. on Allentown’s East Side.

Business has been good at the Allentown store, and the couple wanted to expand their grocery operations to serve more people in the Lehigh Valley.

“The first few months have been really great in Allentown,” Mazariegos-Perez said. “The community is really supporting us.”

Perez and Mazariegos-Perez pride themselves on carrying a wide variety of goods, including rice, beans and other groceries imported from Latin America and other parts of the world.

“Our goal is to serve everybody in the Lehigh Valley,” Mazariegos-Perez said. “People are looking for grocery stores that carry a variety of goods, including international items from different countries.”

The new Bravo Supermarket features approximately 12 shopping aisles, carrying a selection of groceries similar to the Allentown store, Mazariegos-Perez said.

Individuals can shop a wide array of fresh meats, including beef short ribs, chuck steaks, sirloin tip steaks, T-bone steaks, ground beef, ground turkey, ham steaks, pork chops, pork shoulder, pig feet, beef tongue, bacon, turkey bacon, sausage patties, oxtail, chicken breast, chicken legs and chicken gizzards.

There are also frozen meats along with other frozen foods such as seafood and snacks.

Other groceries include eggs, milk, yogurt, cheeses, rice, dry pasta, sauces, condiments, canned goods, cereal, snacks such as chips and crackers, cookies, cake mixes, frosting, juices, soda, coffee, tea, pet food, trash bags, laundry detergent, cleaning products, baking supplies, toiletries and paper products such as paper towels, plates and cups.

    Bravo Supermarket is operating 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
