Jessie Murph Teases Infectious New Song, ‘Sip’

    October 21, 2024

Jessie Murph only released her sophomore album, That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil, last month, but it looks like the fast-emerging artist already has new music up her sleeve.

The ‘Someone in This Room’ singer-songwriter has been teasing an unreleased track, ‘Sip’, in a number of TikTok posts, with fans clamouring for Murph to drop the track as soon as possible.

It finds the genre-blending prodigy delivering a series of swaggering, playful lyrics about a romantic encounter, with Murph’s distinctive vocals colliding with an atmospheric, R&B-tinged instrumental. It’s a decidedly uptempo track, and the infectious earworm of a hook has quickly started making the rounds across the social media platform.

As well as sharing a few clips of ‘Sip’ via TikTok, Jessie Murph also treated VIP guests that were allowed to attend her soundcheck in Tulsa, Oklahoma to a brief snippet of the new tune.

Although there’s no official release date just yet, Jessie Murph has been stoking the flames of excitement surrounding ‘Sip’, taking to the comments to teased, “Should I drop this”.

Given the fact that ten of Murph’s last eleven TikTok posts have featured ‘Sip’ as the soundtrack, it feels like she’s gearing up to drop the highly anticipated song sooner rather than later.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed she decides to make the full studio version available in the coming weeks. Bearing in mind Jessie Murph only dropped That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil last month, we imagine ‘Sip’ will be included on a deluxe version of the record.

Fans will be hoping ‘Sip’ is joined by ‘Blue Strips’, another popular unreleased offering that the ‘Wild Ones’ hitmaker has been teasing another her socials in recent months. Judging by the charisma and assurance of both ‘Sip’ and ‘Blue Strips’, it feels like the potential deluxe version of That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil will find Murph emerging from the darkness of heartbreak and toasting her post-break-up freedom.
