    Quant Mutual Fund reduce cash holding below 14% in September

    Quant Mutual Fund deployed more cash in the rising market, as the cash as a percentage of total AUM went down from 19.09% in August to 13.74% in September. The total cash that Quant Mutual Fund had was Rs 12,614 crore in September and the total equity AUM was recorded at Rs 79,197 crore.

    The fund house manages 21 equity mutual funds. Out of these 21 schemes, four funds had more than Rs 1,000 crore cash in their respective portfolios. Quant Small Cap Fund had the highest amount of cash in its portfolio of around Rs 3,480 crore in September with an equity AUM of Rs 23,163 crore.

    Quant Active Fund had Rs 1,482 crore cash in its portfolio. Quant Flexi Cap Fund and Quant Mid Cap Fund had Rs 1,344 crore and Rs 1,177 crore cash respectively in September.

    Quant Large & Mid Cap Fund had Rs 549 crore cash in its portfolio with an equity AUM of Rs 549 crore. Quant Value Fund and Quant PSU Fund had Rs 367 crore and Rs 263 crore cash in their respective portfolios in September.


    Two sectoral/thematic funds – Quant Business Cycle Fund and Quant BFSI Fund – had Rs 198 crore and Rs 103 crore cash respectively in the mentioned month.Around six schemes managed by the fund house had less than Rs 100 crore cash in their portfolios. Two sectoral funds – Quant Manufacturing Fund and Quant Consumption Fund – had Rs 77.32 crore and Rs 73.58 crore cash in their portfolios.Four sectoral/thematic funds – Quant Teck Fund, Quant ESG Equity Fund, Quant Commodities Fund, and Quant Healthcare Fund – had cash between Rs 23.58 crore to Rs 50.15 crore in the mentioned period.

    Fund managers are allowed to keep a part of their portfolio in cash to meet events like redemptions or make investments when they see a possible opportunity in the market.

    Among the schemes managed by the fund house (including hybrid schemes), 17 schemes received inflows and six schemes saw outflows on a monthly basis. Quant Small Cap Fund, the only fund to receive more than Rs 1,000 crore inflow, received an inflow of Rs 1,109 crore on monthly basis taking the total AUM to Rs 26,644 crore in September from Rs 25,534 crore in August.

    Quant Mid Cap Fund saw an inflow of Rs 133 crore, followed by Quant Large & Mid Cap Fund which received an inflow of Rs 121 crore.

    Quant Quantamental Fund saw the highest outflow of Rs 67.62 crore in September. Quant Infrastructure Fund and Quant PSU Fund saw an outflow of Rs 53.93 crore and Rs 47.11 crore respectively.
