PARKERSBURG — Jen Allman, owner and operator of the SIPS Coffee Truck, raised $1,800 to help support Camden Clark Foundation’s Pink Mammogram Fund.

Allman presented the check to Executive Director of the Camden Clark Foundation Kim Couch Thursday at the coffee truck.

SIPS can be seen all across the Mid-Ohio Valley serving artisanal beverages to the community. Allman said she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and has made a complete recovery but wanted to find a way to give back to her community. SIPS Coffee Truck offers a drink called TaTaCoolada and 10% of the proceeds from each TaTaCoolada goes toward donating to the Pink Mammogram Fund.

“This contribution was made possible by our incredible customers and friends who stopped by SIPS Coffee Truck for a TaTaColada,” said Allman. “It’s a reflection of our commitment to the brewing community and giving back, a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!”

The Pink Mammogram Fund is open to anyone without residency or age requirements. The fund helps cover mammograms, diagnostics testing, and biopsies. Additionally, the Camden Clark Foundation helps cover transportation for those who may struggle to get to their appointments whether they are related to breast cancer or not.

Couch said the work on transportation is an ongoing process.

“Gas cards are easy to buy, if it were just money that would fix the problem,” said Couch. “The bigger issue I think is that if you don’t have a reliable car, or you’re not on a bus route, then that’s not really helpful so, we’re continuing to look for opportunities to make it easier for people to make and keep appointments.”

The goal of the fund is to help serve those who either have no insurance or are underinsured and bridge the gap for those individuals in need. Couch said individuals who also lack a provider are welcome to call the Pink Mammogram Fund whether or not they have an active order for testing and that they have an in-house provider who can write an order and review the results.

To access the funds from the Pink Mammogram Fund anyone can contact Couch at the Camden Clark Foundation and her direct line is 304-424-2200.

Allman plans to continue the fundraising effort from this October to next October and then present the money back to the Camden Clark Foundation as another donation. To donate directly to the Camden Clark Foundation go to camdenclarkfoundation.org and donations can be designated for the Pink Mammogram Fund.
