‘Sip and Savor Soirée’ brings fine southern cuisine to the Hub City

    October 27, 2024

JACKSON, Tenn.—Local residents of the community enjoying a fancy event for the first time.

Chefs across the region presented an array of foods to guests this evening.

Let’s take a closer look at the scene Saturday.

West Tennessee Hope and Healing Foundation chose West TN’s Farmers Market to host ‘Sip and Savor’, a celebration of southern fine cuisine.

“The money raised from this event will support our hospice home campaign as well as our patient needs funds at West Tennessee Healthcare,” said Donna Stines, Philanthropy Council Director.

Stines said hospice homes are much needed in our area.

“There’s not one currently in our region and so this would be the first one to serve patients at their end of life care. And then also when we talk about our patient needs fund, there are many patients and families throughout West Tennessee that need support, so our patient needs fund is there to provide support to them,” Stines said.

Each guest could stop at different tables tasting foods made by professional chefs such as gumbo, burgers and more.

She told us that Jackson Kitchen and Catering also helped out with the bar tonight.

“We’ve got some that even came from Mississippi and some that came from Memphis including West Tennessee and so we also have some beverage tastings that have come,” Stines said.

There was also something special for the sponsors of the event.

“We have great V.I.P. area too for our sponsors, so we’re very excited about this event and thank all the supporters and volunteers that have come in to support this event,” Stines said.

The event also honored former president, James “Jr” Ross who passed back in September.
