UTI MF launches Multi Cap Fund

    April 29, 2025

UTI Mutual Fund has launched the UTI Multi Cap Fund, an open-ended equity scheme that invests across large cap, mid cap, and small cap stocks. The New Fund Offer (NFO) opens on April 29, 2025, and will close on May 13, 2025.

The minimum investment amount is ₹1,000 and in multiples of ₹1 thereafter.

The fund will follow a disciplined allocation strategy, investing at least 25% each in large cap, mid cap, and small cap segments.

It aims to offer investors diversification across company sizes, sectors, and investment styles through a single portfolio.

UTI Multi Cap Fund will adopt a blend strategy. It will invest in sustainable businesses, companies with strong fundamentals at reasonable valuations, and turnaround opportunities.

The fund will follow a bottom-up stock selection approach, supported by UTI’s proprietary Score Alpha research framework, which evaluates companies based on operating cash flows and return ratios.

The portfolio may see relatively higher turnover compared to other UTI Mutual Fund strategies, as it will actively adjust allocations to align with changing market dynamics.

Key details of the fund include:

    • Fund Manager: Karthikraj Lakshmanan
    • Benchmark: Nifty 500 Multicap 50:25:25 TRI
    • Exit Load: 1% if redeemed or switched out within 90 days; nil thereafter
    • Plans Available: Regular and Direct Plans (Growth Option only)

Commenting on the launch, Vetri Subramaniam, Chief Investment Officer at UTI AMC, said the fund is designed to adapt to market cycles and provide long-term wealth creation opportunities.

Karthikraj Lakshmanan, Fund Manager, added that the fund offers structured access to India’s full equity market spectrum, balancing risk and return.

The fund further expands UTI Mutual Fund’s equity offerings. As of now, UTI AMC manages ₹1.29 lakh crore across 28 actively managed equity, hybrid, and solution-oriented schemes.
