Mirae Asset launches ‘Platinum SIF’ brand to offer Specialised Investment Funds

    June 5, 2025

Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) has launched Platinum SIF, a new brand under Mirae Asset Mutual Fund aimed at offering Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs).

The move marks a shift in the fund house’s approach to product innovation.

The company plans to introduce differentiated investment strategies across equity, hybrid, and fixed income categories within the mutual fund structure.

“With Platinum, we are laying the foundation for a new phase in our product journey,” said Swarup Anand Mohanty, Vice Chairman & CEO, Mirae Asset AMC.

He added that the goal is to provide sharper, strategy-led approaches while ensuring investor clarity and transparency.

The fund house said Platinum SIF is intended to serve investors looking for more focused exposures but within familiar and regulated frameworks.

Mirae Asset expects to announce product-specific strategies under the brand in compliance with SEBI regulations.

“There are seven investment strategies allowed under the SIF structure. Our aim is to explore them thoughtfully while retaining the mutual fund format investors trust,” said Vaibhav Shah, Head – Products, Business Strategy & International Business, Mirae Asset AMC.

Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) are a relatively new category in the Indian mutual fund landscape, designed to offer more tailored solutions compared to traditional schemes.

Earlier, Edelweiss Asset Management also launched a new identity, altiva SIF, to represent its presence in the SIF segment. Edelweiss AMC described SIFs as a bridge between mutual funds and Portfolio Management Services (PMS), targeting investors seeking innovation and flexibility.

Radhika Gupta, MD & CEO, Edelweiss Mutual Fund, noted that “SIFs represent the next evolution in investment solutions.”

The brand altiva draws from the word “altitude,” symbolising vision and resilience.

Both Mirae Asset and Edelweiss AMC are among the early movers in the SIF space as the mutual fund industry looks to diversify product offerings for a more sophisticated investor base.
