Canara Robeco Infrastructure Fund has turned a monthly SIP of ₹10,000 into over ₹1 crore in two decades

    August 19, 2025

Canara Robeco Asset Management Company, India’s second-oldest asset manager, announced the completion of 20 years of its Canara Robeco Infrastructure Fund, an open-ended equity scheme focused on the infrastructure sector.

Since its launch in December 2005, a monthly SIP of ₹10,000 in the scheme would have grown to ₹1.36 crore, according to data shared by the fund house.

The scheme’s objective is to generate capital appreciation by investing in equities and equity-related instruments of infrastructure companies, though returns are subject to market risks and not guaranteed.

As of July 31, 2025, the fund had an Assets Under Management (AUM) of ₹917 crore (month-end), with a monthly average AUM of ₹924.55 crore. The Net Asset Value (NAV) of the Regular Plan – Growth option stood at ₹160.53, while the Direct Plan – Growth option was at ₹180.55.

The scheme is managed by Shridatta Bhandwaldar, Head of Equities, and Vishal Mishra, Fund Manager. Over different timeframes, the regular plan growth option has delivered 7.93% CAGR in the last one year, 27.21% over five years, and 20.09% over ten years, outperforming its benchmark, the BSE Sensex TRI, in each period.

    Portfolio and allocation

The fund maintains a thematic allocation with 80%–100% invested in infrastructure sector equities and derivatives (very high risk), while 0%–20% may be allocated to debt and money market instruments (low to medium risk).

It also has the flexibility to invest up to 10% in REITs/InvITs.

The fund currently offers both regular and direct plans across growth and income distribution options. It carries no entry load, while an exit load of 1% applies if redeemed within one year; no load is charged after one year. The expense ratio is 2.27% for the regular plan and 0.99% for the direct plan.

Minimum investment starts at ₹5,000, with SIP options available from ₹1,000 per month.
