Thruxton Circuit: Colour Dash raises funds for Alabaré

    September 20, 2025

Events held over the weekend of Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 at Thruxton Circuit raised thousands of pounds for the charity Alabaré, which supports people experiencing homelessness.

The charity’s first-ever Colour Dash saw participants of all ages complete a 3.8k lap of the track, running, walking or dancing through paint stations before crossing a foam-filled finish line.

Rebecca Mullen, Alabaré’s principal lead for events, said: “Thank you so much to all those who came along to our first-ever Colour Dash and 10k Speedway.

“It was such a fantastic day and a real moment of solidarity and fun to support those who need our help more than ever.

“Despite the weather doing its best to try and dampen spirits, it was lovely to see everyone really enjoying the event and embracing the paint stations and foam finish with the biggest smiles.

“We’re so grateful to them for their dedication to breaking the cycle of homelessness.”

Before the Colour Dash, more experienced runners took on the 10k Speedway, which included three laps of the circuit.

Destination X star Nick Butter, the only man to have completed a marathon in every country in the world, led warm-ups for both events and posed for photos with supporters.

Funds raised from both the Colour Dash and 10k Speedway will support Alabaré’s work providing homes and support for the 3,200 people Alabaré helps every year.

Rebecca continued: “Our thanks also go to Aspire Defence, All The Kit, Thruxton Race Circuit, and to Nick Butter for his support of Alabaré, and we look forward to his support at future events such as our BIG Sleep at Stonehenge on 14 November.”

The weekend also featured a 75-mile motorbike Ride for Homeless Veterans through the Wiltshire countryside, raising funds for Alabaré’s veteran services.

The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr John Wells, met riders in Guildhall Square in Salisbury and officially saw them off.

Each rider paid an entry fee, with funds supporting Alabaré’s Veteran Self-Build scheme and supported accommodation for ex-military personnel at risk of homelessness.

Andrew Lord, chief executive of Alabaré, said: “The weekend’s been an incredible show of support for Alabaré’s services, and we’ve been pleased to welcome hundreds of people into our events to find out more about what we do.”
