SBIMutual Fund, the country’s largest fund house, has launched its first scheme Magnum Hybrid Long Short scheme under Specialised Investment Fund.
The investment strategy of the scheme is to generate regular income by predominantly investing in derivatives strategies such as covered calls, arbitrage opportunities in the cash and derivatives segments of the equity markets and debt and money market instruments.
Though returns are not guaranteed, the fund house targets 8-11 per cent return. The scheme will invest 65-75 per cent equity, 25-35 per cent in debt and 10 per cent in REITs and InVITs. The unhedged portion, consisting of short derivatives, will range from 0% to 25%.
Investments can be made through lump sum and SIPs
The New Fund Offer (NFO) will be open for subscription from October 1. The minimum investment is Rs 10 lakh with a minimum additional purchase of ₹10,000. Redemptions are available twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays).
. The benchmark for the investment strategy is the NIFTY 50 Hybrid Composite Debt 50:50 Index TRI.
DP Singh, Deputy MD and Joint CEO, SBI Funds Management said the Magnum SIF serves as a bridge between the mutual fund and portfolio management services, delivering innovative investment strategies for today’s evolving investors.
The first investment strategy, the Magnum Hybrid Long Short Fund, reflects the focus on innovation and investor-centric solutions, he said.
