Tata Mutual Fund rolls out Titanium SIF with equity, debt and derivative mix

    November 24, 2025

Tata Asset Management has launched the Titanium Specialised Investment Fund (SIF), offered by Tata Mutual Fund, introducing a hybrid long–short strategy that combines equity, debt, and derivative exposures. The new fund offer opened on November 24 and will close on December 8.

The product requires a minimum investment of ₹10 lakh across SIFs at the PAN level in an AMC and is meant for investors with a higher risk profile.

The fund falls under the hybrid long–short category and will maintain at least 25% allocation each to equities and debt, with up to 25% unhedged exposure to short instruments.

According to the fund house, this structure enables participation in equity markets while using short strategies, arbitrage, and debt instruments to manage volatility. The fund may also invest in REITs and InvITs.

The investment strategy uses a mix of long and short positions, along with equity derivatives, to express tactical market views and adjust exposures across different phases of the market. The aim is to moderate the portfolio’s sensitivity to market direction by diversifying across asset classes.

Anand Vardarajan, Chief Business Officer at Tata Asset Management, said the SIF framework expands the range of strategies that fund houses can offer under regulation. He noted that the structure allows use of derivatives and hedging during sideways or declining markets.

Fund Manager Suraj Nanda said the Titanium SIF strategy uses dynamic exposure management to balance risk and return and respond to market shifts.

SEBI introduced the SIF framework to bridge the gap between mutual funds and AIF/PMS structures, allowing fund houses to design more flexible strategies under a regulated and tax-efficient system. With a ₹10 lakh minimum investment requirement, SIFs target investors seeking differentiated, high-risk strategies.

The launch of Titanium SIF adds to the category of hybrid long–short schemes now available under the SIF framework.
