Thriving Investments makes senior Scottish appointment

Thriving Investments makes senior Scottish appointment

Fund and asset manager Thriving Investments has appointed Ed Crockett as fund manager for its £260 million New Avenue Living fund, strengthening the platform’s continued growth across Scotland and Manchester.

New Avenue Living is Thriving Investments’ essential worker housing strategy, delivering affordable homes through public-private partnerships with government, local authorities, and developers. The platform focuses on bringing forward much-needed homes on brownfield regeneration sites, supporting communities where housing demand is greatest.

Thriving Investments is the only investment management company with a dedicated focus on the Scottish market, where it has an established presence and extensive experience in delivering housing projects. Based in Scotland, Ed will oversee the growing New Avenue Living fund and support its next phase of development. He will also take responsibility for the newer Manchester fund, applying insights from the Scottish portfolio to support planning, partnerships, and delivery in the region.

Ed brings more than 20 years’ experience in real estate capital markets, having managed Core and CORE + UK fund strategies across both living and commercial sectors. His investment approach centres on long-term value creation and aligns closely with Thriving Investments’ socially driven investment framework.

His previous roles include head of investment execution at Europa, director of operational capital markets at Savills UK, and head of UK residential investment at Aberdeen. During his 15 years at Aberdeen, Ed established the UK Residential Investment business from inception, growing it to more than £1.25 billion AUM across multiple mandates and strategies. He also worked with the Pan-European team to expand the European Residential Business from €2bn to €6bn AUM.

Thriving Investments recently surpassed the milestone of 5,000 homes delivered or under management across its living platforms, while the New Avenue Living mid-market rental fund took receipt of its 1,000th home in Scotland this month. Ed’s appointment will help build on this momentum, supporting the continued growth of New Avenue Living and Thriving Investments’ ambition to reach 20,000 homes across the UK by 2030.

Cath Webster, CEO at Thriving Investments, said: “Ed brings extensive experience across UK real estate capital markets at a time when the need for affordable housing has never been greater. His expertise and values-led approach will strengthen New Avenue Living and help us continue delivering homes that make a real difference for essential workers and the communities they serve.

“We look forward to the insight and leadership he will bring as we continue to deliver strong investment performance, make a meaningful social impact for communities, and play our part in addressing the UK housing crisis.”

Ed Crockett, fund manager at Thriving Investments, said: “Thriving Investments’ focus on long-term value creation and measurable social impact closely reflects my own investment philosophy. Through New Avenue Living, we are unlocking regeneration and accelerating the delivery of much-needed homes for essential workers who are too often priced out of the markets they serve.

“The team has built a strong track record of delivering homes that respond to real need, and I look forward to building on this progress – driving the next phase of growth, while delivering sustainable investment outcomes and creating lasting benefits for communities, partners, and investors.”
