Premium Bonds winners May 2026: NS&I winning numbers this month and how to check if you won

    May 1, 2026

TWO new millionaires have been made as NS&I has announced the lucky winners of the colossal Premium Bonds jackpots for the month of May.

Overall, £376,180,825 is set to be handed out following the government-backed savings provider releasing the results of its May 2026 prize draw.

What are the winning Premium Bonds numbers for May 2026?

Prizes up for grabs per month range from just £25 to a grand total of £1 million, with just two people winning the seven-digit fee.

They are decided by EARNIE (Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment) that has produced winning Premium Bonds numbers since 1957.

The maximum amount you can have saved in Premium Bonds is £50,000, with a different bond number – the equivalent to an entry – given out per £1 spent.

This month, the odds of a £1 bond winning any prize rests at 23,000-to-1, while the variable annual prize fund rate for the May prize draw is 3.30%.

For May, the two new millionaires have been announced, with the first jackpot winner coming from Suffolk.

Their winning bond number is 567VN857011.

They bought the fortunate bond back in January 2024, and hold the maximum £50,000 allowed in Premium Bonds.

The second millionaire is based in the Highlands and Islands region.

Their victorious bond number is 643SE292364.

That person invested £23,500 in Premium Bonds, having purchased the winning bond last September.

Along with the two £1million jackpots, there were 71 prizes of £100,000, 143 prizes of £50,000 and 285 prizes of £25,000 handed out in May.

In total, almost six million people have won a share of £376,180,825 just this month.

How can you check if you won the Premium Bonds?

The two lucky individuals who won the jackpot will have received a visit from NS&I’s mysterious “Agent Million”, who delivers the news to the winners of the jackpot every month.

Everyone else has to wait until NS&I updates its prize checker, which means smaller prize winners can check their results from Saturday, May 2.

You can do this by downloading the Premium Bonds prize checker app or by visiting the NS&I website and using the prize checker tool.

You will need your holder’s number to hand, which can be found on your bond record or by logging into your account.

The prize checker will show you any prizes won this month, as well as any older unclaimed prizes sitting in your account.

It is worth checking even if your bonds are old – NS&I says that despite over 99 per cent of prizes being paid out since draws began in 1957, millions of pounds in prizes still remain unclaimed.

Prizes are completely tax-free, which makes them particularly attractive for savers who have already used up their £20,000 annual ISA allowance.
