CityView on WFNC: ARPA funding, aquatic complex and medical school bonds

    August 12, 2024

CityView’s government accountability reporter, Lexi Solomon, appeared on WFNC Monday with morning talk show host Jennifer Jones Rochelle for CityView’s weekly segment on the “Good Morning Fayetteville” show.

If you didn’t tune in, here’s what you missed:

    • Cumberland County has until Dec. 31 to figure out how to obligate the remaining 15% of its ARPA money. Get the details on what that means and how the other 85% will be spent.
    • A proposed public hearing on $40 million in tax-free bonds for Cape Fear Valley Health’s role in building the new Methodist University medical school got delayed last week. Find out why.
    • Fayetteville and Cumberland County officials took the next step earlier this month in bringing an aquatic complex to the county. City officials described what that would look like earlier this month.

Audio for the show will accessible online Tuesday, courtesy of the WFNC Podcast Pepper app.

The CityView Today segment is at 8:10 a.m. Mondays on WFNC. The station broadcasts on 640 AM and 103.5HD2 FM. It also streams through most streaming devices and on its website.
