NS&I confirms Premium Bonds August winners with two £1 million prizes won

    August 3, 2026

A total number of 6,224,837 tax-free prizes will be paid out to lucky savers this month

One lucky saver from Kent, as well as another from Hampshire and The Isle of Wight, has bagged themselves the £1m prize Premium Bonds draw.

Every month the Government-backed savings organisation hands out millions of pounds in prizes to savers across the UK who have their money invested in Premium Bonds.

On top of the £1m prize winners, 83 people have bagged themselves £100k, while 154 won £50k and 331 won £25k. The prizes go all the way down to £25 – which has been won by 2,289,959 people this month.

Winners of the two £1 million jackpot prizes are contacted directly by Agent Million on the first working day of each month. Anyone else with with money invested in Premium Bond accounts will be able to check if they have won a prize sum on Tuesday, August 4.

A saver from Kent is the first winner of this month’s £1m jackpot, with the Bond number 664BF890888. They purchased the winning Bond in February this year and hold £21,000 in their account.

This month’s second winner was the Bond number 491KF169443, held by a saver in in Hampshire and The Isle of Wight. They purchased their winning Bond in March 2022 and hold £49,850.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, said: “August has a whole new outlook for two Premium Bonds holders in Kent and Hampshire & The Isle of Wight, with Agent Million bringing the good news they have each won the £1 million jackpot.

“With our jackpot winner from Kent only purchasing their winning Bond earlier this year, ERNIE reminds us that every £1 Bond has an equal chance of winning and that a visit from Agent Million could be just around the corner.

Mr Westhead added:”They’re not the only ones with a reason to celebrate. ERNIE has drawn over 6.2 million tax-free prizes worth over £433 million, this month.”

“Individuals can hold up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds, and each £1 bond gets entered into a monthly prize draw.”

To be eligible for the prize draw, Premium Bonds need to have been held for one full calendar month. Statistically the higher amount of Premium Bonds a person has, the higher their chances of winning, but this isn’t always the case.

Overall a total number of 6,224,837 tax-free prizes will be paid to Premium Bonds prize draw winners in August. The amount to be paid out equals £433,663,575.
