As heartbreaking as it is to see dogs, especially puppies, forgotten and abandoned, it’s also a relief to know that there are so many kindhearted people looking out for them. Whether it’s animal shelter volunteers, dog foster parents, or unsuspecting rescuers like @julianazz and her partner, selfless people are the reason so many stray animals find their happily ever afters.
On September 10, Juliana found a young Australian Cattle Dog puppy who had been abandoned in a dumpster. She didn’t think twice before taking the terrified puppy home, but she never could have guessed just how quickly the rescue pup would connect with her brand-new kitten sibling.
If this isn’t love at first sight, I don’t know what is! The scared puppy gravitated toward Juniper immediately, and it didn’t take long before the curious kitty accepted her new BFF. It’s only been a few days since these girls met, but they’re already inseparable!

This is only the beginning of a beautiful friendship, and the Australian Cattle Dog (AKA Blue Heeler) puppy has already undergone an inspiring transformation. She’s now clean, comfortable, and even gaining confidence with her new friend around.
“I don’t understand how anyone can throw away an animal,” one commenter empathized. “She’s so lucky you found her.”
I’m sure Juliana feels like the lucky one to have found such a sweet little dog to complete her family. That’s precisely how my husband and I feel when we think about how the dog we adopted unexpectedly turned out to be perfect for us. Dog rescue is such a gift for everyone involved!
Raising a Blue Heeler
Viewers are appalled that someone would place a puppy in a dumpster, but they’re equally in disbelief that someone would let a Heeler go. These dogs are loyal, hardworking companions who adore their humans just as much as their humans adore them.
This Australian dog breed has also been popularized by the recent cartoon series Bluey, which ended up inspiring this particular puppy’s name. Much like her animated counterpart, Blue is a curious and friendly little girl, and now that she has a bestie by her side, the future is limitless!
