Solana ETFs Experience 12 Consecutive Weeks of Inflows, While Bitcoin Has Its Quietest Week on Record

    September 19, 2026

    Quick Read

    • Spot Solana ETFs logged 12 straight weeks of inflows, with BSOL alone attracting $48M in a single Friday session despite a Fed rate hike.

    • FBTC pulled in $311M and IBIT added $108M on Friday, rescuing Bitcoin ETFs from a red week that churned $1.5B gross.

    • Solana’s funds saw inflows on both September 15 and September 16, coinciding with the Senate’s rejection of the CLARITY Act and the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates.

    • The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF is the only Solana fund with disclosed inflows for the week, and its shares closed 12.12% higher, ahead of SOL’s own 11.29% gain.

    • Just released. Our analysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now, and BSOL didn’t make the cut. Enter your email to see the names that beat BSOL. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.

Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) spot ETFs recorded an additional $13.2 million in inflows during the week ending September 18, 2026, according to SoSoValue. In contrast, Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) spot ETFs netted only $6.2 million over the same period, reflecting the smallest weekly inflow figure in the funds’ 141 weeks of trading.

The 141-week timeline includes every week since Bitcoin spot ETFs launched on January 11, 2024. Notably, the week with the fewest Bitcoin inflows coincided with Solana’s ongoing streak of inflows.

Throughout the week, Solana’s daily inflows were modest but consistent, with no negative sessions. On September 14, Solana gained $11.01 million. On September 15, it added $1.35 million, and on September 16 it took in $836,926. September 17 closed with no change.

The context of these inflows is significant because two of those days could have ended Solana’s streak. On September 15, the Senate rejected the CLARITY Act by a narrow margin of 49 to 50 votes, a bill that would have clarified how US regulators handle digital assets. The following day, the Federal Reserve raised its target range by 25 basis points to an upper bound of 3.75% to 4.00%.

In stark contrast, Bitcoin funds lost $450.33 million on September 15 and another $295.98 million on September 16, while Solana ETFs attracted funds on both occasions. Over this period, SOL gained 11.29%.

Despite appearing quiet on the surface, Bitcoin’s week was quite active. On September 14, Bitcoin ETFs saw inflows of $160.04 million, followed by losses of $450.33 million on September 15 and $295.98 million on September 16. A reversal led to inflows of $159.45 million on September 17 and $433.03 million on September 18.

Overall, the three positive sessions totaled $752.52 million, while the two negative sessions accounted for $746.31 million, resulting in a net figure of $6.21 million. The total gross movement reached $1.499 billion, or 241 times the net movement, with the recovery recouping 79% of the losses mid-week.

The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (CBOE:FBTC) saw the largest single-day inflow of $310.7 million, while the iShares Bitcoin Trust (NASDAQ:IBIT) added $108 million.

Currently, Bitcoin funds hold cumulative inflows of $55.16 billion compared to Solana’s $1.37 billion. Bitcoin’s net assets also far exceed Solana’s, at $102.53 billion versus $1.42 billion. Funds 40 times larger move in amounts that can erase a week and rebuild it within a few sessions.

BSOL Pays a Yield That Bitcoin Funds Cannot

Solana funds and Bitcoin funds hold different kinds of assets, which shapes who buys them. Solana can be staked, meaning a holder locks coins to help validate transactions and earns a return. Bitcoin has no equivalent.

The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (NYSEARCA:BSOL) stakes the coins it holds and passes the proceeds to shareholders. A buyer gets exposure to the token and a running yield on top, so the position earns something whether SOL moves or not.

That changes the reason to own it. An investor buying yield has a reason to wait out a bad month. An investor buying price alone has none. Bitcoin’s funds hold an asset that pays nothing, which is why their flows track sentiment so closely and reversed twice inside five sessions.

BSOL is also the only Solana fund with disclosed inflows for the week, and its shares closed 12.12% higher during that five-day stretch, ahead of SOL’s own 11.29% gain.

Which Streak Counts for More in October?

In the coming weeks, Bitcoin’s swings carry more weight. Funds that move $1.499 billion gross to settle at a net of $6.21 million have allocators trading in both directions on a large scale. That dynamic means a single macroeconomic surprise can turn a week from flat to negative.

In contrast, Solana’s performance is more consistent and easier to interpret. It has recorded twelve consecutive positive weeks, enduring a Federal Reserve rate hike, a failed crypto regulatory bill, and one flat session. This pattern reflects committed buyers who prefer to hold their investments, rather than traders reacting to news events. However, the total volume is limited, as $13.2 million in a week cannot move a $1.42 billion fund far.
