XRP ETFs Have Been Frozen at $1.71 Billion. When Will Inflows Reach $2 Billion?

    September 19, 2026

XRP ETFs have stalled well short of a key milestone, and three straight weeks of slowing inflows raise a pointed question: was August the peak, or can something still shake fund investors back into action?

On September 18, 2026, XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) ETF inflows were stalled at a cumulative total of $1,710,373,047.51, according to SoSoValue data pulled on September 19. This leaves a gap of $290 million to reach the $2 billion mark.

The pace of closing this gap has declined over the past three weeks. So when will XRP ETF inflows surpass $2 billion, and what changes may be necessary for that to happen?

Two Macro Events Influenced XRP ETFs by $3.5 Million

As of September 11, the total cumulative inflow stood at $1,700,813,802.26. In the five trading sessions that followed, it increased by less than $10 million, coinciding with two significant macro events.

On September 15, the Senate rejected the CLARITY Act by a vote of 49 to 50, a bill that aimed to clarify how US regulators treat digital assets. On that day, XRP ETFs recorded no inflows at all. The following day, the Federal Reserve raised its target range by 25 basis points to an upper bound of 3.75% to 4.00%, leading to $3.5 million in inflows, mainly driven by Franklin Templeton.

The rest of the week showed little activity. September 14 saw $11.26 million in inflows, the only day above $10 million. September 17 lost $5.15 million, and September 18 lost another $43,699, for a total inflow of just $9.57 million for the week and total net assets of $1.51 billion.

Franklin Templeton was the sole issuer with a disclosed positive inflow across the five days.  So, a product that took in $153 million in August managed only one positive day in a week marked by a pivotal interest rate decision and a failed bill.

XRP ETF Inflows Have Slowed for Three Consecutive Weeks

Three light brown wooden letter tiles spelling 'E', 'T', 'F' are arranged horizontally on a black background. Below them, a silver cryptocurrency coin with the Ripple (XRP) logo and text around its edge, including 'XRP', 'SCALABLE', 'DISTRIBUTED', 'STABLE', 'RELIABLE', and 'SECURE BORDER PAYMENTS', is prominently displayed. The coin is centered beneath the 'ETF' tiles.

Analysis of the last three weekly totals reveals more than what daily figures suggest.

    Week Ending Net Inflow
    September 4, 2026 $13.32 million
    September 11, 2026 $18.98 million
    September 18, 2026 $9.57 million

The three-week average inflow is $13.96 million, with the most recent week recording the lowest figure. Our September 7 piece noted that XRP ETF inflows had fallen by 83% in a single week, and this decline has persisted since then.

Each inflow rate leads to a different timeline for closing the $290 million gap. At the current pace of $9.57 million, it would take 30 weeks to reach $2 billion. The average pace of $13.96 million would take 21 weeks, while the pace of $18.98 million observed in the week ending September 11 would take 15 weeks.

The record inflow of $110.49 million in the week ending August 28 brought in more than the three most recent weeks combined, showing that significant momentum can still occur when new buyers are present.

Bitcoin ETFs Hold 32 Times the Inflows of XRP ETFs

As of September 18, Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) spot ETFs held $55.16 billion in cumulative net inflows, which is 32 times the total of XRP ETFs. Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) funds held $13.25 billion, or 7.7 times XRP’s total.

Currently, XRP leads in one category. Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) spot ETFs totaled $1.37 billion as of September 17, making XRP’s cumulative inflow 25% larger. However, this lead is narrowing, as Solana’s funds have enjoyed 12 consecutive weeks of positive inflows, while XRP’s total has hardly changed.

This context alters the significance of the $290 million gap. Bitcoin’s funds alone took in $433.03 million on September 18, which is 45 weeks of XRP inflows at the current pace, collected in a single session.

When XRP ETF Inflows Cross $2 Billion

As of the week ending September 18, XRP ETFs are projected to hit $2 billion around April 16, 2027. Based on average inflows, this could be reached by mid-February 2027, or even as early as the first week of January 2027. If August’s record pace returns, it might occur by the second week of October 2026.

There is a six-month spread between those dates, and since the most recent week showed the slowest inflows, April seems most likely unless inflows surpass $13.96 million in a week.

Meanwhile, XRP’s price remains stable. It closed at $1.41, up 3.45% over the week ending September 19, suggesting stronger activity from spot market buyers than from fund investors. The focus has shifted from growth potential to concerns about whether August was the peak for inflows.
