M K Stalin's US visit from August 27 to draw investments to Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin is all set to visit the US for a fortnight from Aug 27. During his long awaited visit, Stalin is scheduled to make a strong pitch on behalf of Tamil Nadu to attract big ticket investments into the state.
“CM Stalin is scheduled to depart for the US from Chennai on Aug 27 and land in San Francisco the next day. On his return journey, he will leave the US on Sept 11 from Chicago and reach Chennai on Sept 12,” sources aware of the tour programme said.
“The entire focus of the US visit will be in attracting high value investments that will lead to creation of high quality jobs in Tamil Nadu. That will be the focus of the CM’s entire tour and meetings in the US,” a source told TOI.
Unlike Stalin’s earlier visit to Dubai, Japan and Europe, around 30 key meetings with investors have been lined up during his visit to the US. “The meetings include some with officials of Fortune 500 companies. We expect a few big ticket announcements to be made during the visit from the US,” sources said.
Soon after his arrival in San Francisco, he will participate in an investors conference on Aug 29, followed by a meeting with the Indian diaspora on Aug 31. He will leave for Chicago on Sept 2 and will address a meeting with Non Resident Tamils on Sept 7.
Industries minister T R B Rajaa already visited the US to oversee preliminary arrangements for the CM’s visit and Guidance TN has been coordinating and finalising the meeting schedules.
The chief minister will be accompanied by Rajaa and officials from the state industries department and Guidance TN.
