Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has launched two retail fund of funds through its newly established GIFT City subsidiary, giving Indian and overseas investors access to global emerging market and India-focused investment opportunities.

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has established a new wholly owned subsidiary at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), marking its entry into the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) as it looks to expand its global investment offerings.

The new entity, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) Limited, is regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) and will develop investment solutions for both Indian and international investors seeking access to global opportunities through the IFSC platform.

As part of its first retail offerings from GIFT City, the company has launched the ABSL Emerging Market Equity Fund (Outbound) and the ABSL India Growth Fund (Inbound).

The ABSL Emerging Market Equity Fund is an open-ended thematic fund of fund scheme designed to generate long-term capital appreciation through investments in funds focused on emerging markets. The fund will primarily invest in the ARGA Emerging Market Equity Fund and other emerging market strategies.

The underlying ARGA strategy takes a value-oriented approach to investing across emerging markets, combining quantitative screening with fundamental research. The fund is available to resident Indians investing through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) route and eligible Indian corporates through the Overseas Portfolio Investment (OPI) route.

Meanwhile, the ABSL India Growth Fund is an open-ended diversified fund of fund scheme investing in equity-oriented products within the Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund range, including ETFs and index funds. It will be actively managed and dynamically allocated across sectors, market capitalisations and investment themes.

Commenting on the launch, A. Balasubramanian, managing director and CEO of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd., said: “The evolution of GIFT City reflects India’s growing role in the global financial landscape and its ambition to emerge as a credible hub for cross-border financial activity.

“For ABSL AMC, establishing our presence at GIFT IFSC is therefore more than an expansion of our product portfolio. It is a strategic step towards building our global investment capabilities from India. Through Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) Limited, we aim to create investment solutions that enable Indian investors to participate in global growth opportunities and NRI/ foreign investors to participate in the India’s growth story.

“This is supported by our investment experience and the capabilities of leading Indian and global investment managers. The Emerging Market Equity Fund and India Growth Fund form the initial offerings in this journey, and we intend to progressively build a differentiated suite of global investment solutions from the IFSC.”

The company said eligible investors can access international investment opportunities with an initial investment of $500, followed by additional investments of at least $100. The funds are designed to provide exposure to companies, sectors and themes beyond those available in domestic markets, while helping investors diversify their portfolios geographically.
