11 of the best Toronto cocktails to sip on this summer

    July 30, 2024

Any hour can be cocktail hour if you really believe in yourself! If you’re anything like us then you’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest cocktails in the city. Summer is in full swing which means there are fruity, light and delicious drinks added to menus all over Toronto and these are the ones you can’t miss out on.

    Cocktail Bar

Cocktail Bar is a Dundas West staple with a menu that has new additions to try all the time.

Currently, the summer menu is full of fresh cocktails including the Mescalero made with Blanco Tequila, cardamom, Aperol, Mezcal, grapefruit, lemon and egg white, a must-try this summer.

    Where: 923 Dundas St W

    Melrose on Adelaide

Located right in the heart of downtown, Melrose has a rotating seasonal cocktail menu so you’re always getting something new.

Visit this summer and try the La Palma. This summer-y cocktail has Bacardi White, Leblon Cachaca, cinnamon, pineapple, grapefruit and lime – yum!

    Where: 270 Adelaide St W #300

    Minami

Not only does Minami have world-class Abrui Oshi Sushi, but their cocktails are to die for!

Mianami has a seasonal cocktail list and for the summertime, the Miyazaki Margarita with rosemary-infused Cazadores Reposado, Yuzu Sake, grapefruit, hibiscus and lime is something you need to try.

    Where: 225 King St W

    Paradise Grotto

Paradise Grotto brings the tropical vibes year-round.

This underground bar has tiki-style cocktails that are perfect for the summer. A personal favourite is the Lavender Bliss which has Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain, lavender, lemon, Prosecco and soda.

    Where: 270 Adelaide St W

    Famous Last Words

You can find Famous Last Words in the Junction, and if you haven’t been here yet you’re missing out.

The drinks are divided into different groups based on the vibes, tastes and ingredients and right now we’re looking at the “Beach Reads” drink category.

You can’t go wrong in the summer with any cocktail in this section but I suggest Beatrice & Virgil. This cocktail contains Bourdon, pear, lemon, honey-thyme, tiki bitters and soda.

    Where: 392 Pacific Ave

    Earls

Have you been to the new King and Portland Earls location!? If not, this is your sign.

Earls is a staple and the new rooftop patio at the King and Portland location is the perfect place to sip one of their summer cocktails.

Grab the Strawberry Guava Slush, it’s delicious and fresh, made with Captain Morgan white rum, triple sec, strawberry, guava and fresh lemon.

    Where: 601 King St W

    Bar Banane

Time for a night out on Ossington!

Bar Banane is a fairly new cocktail bar with incredible options and equally incredible vibes.

For the summer give the ctrl + shift + n cocktail a try! This drink has passion fruit, “sunny d”, Pandan Ketel One, nutty sherry, Beirao and buttermilk.

    Where: 227A Ossington Ave

    Cactus Club

While some summertime cocktails have many different fruits, flavours and syrups, some are light and refreshing.

Cactus Club has the perfect cocktail if you’re looking for something on the healthier side, the Sugar-Free Margarita is simple, Cazadores Reposado, fresh lime, zero sugar – perfection.

    Where: 77 Adelaide St W

    Mott 32

The best luxury Chinese restaurant brand in the world, Mott 32, is now open in Toronto and you have to try some of their cocktails this summer.

Mott 32 has a handful of signature drinks that are perfect for the warm, sunny weather such as the Hong Kong Ice Tea with Tequila, Lillet Blanc, blackcurrant and jasmine tea, it’s delicious!

Where: Shangri-La Hotel, 188 University Ave

    Project Gigglewater

Project Gigglewater has quickly become one of my favourite cocktail bars in the city.

The drinks here never disappoint and a favourite for the season is the Mexican Mojito. This cocktail has Blanco tequila, aromatized wine, jalapeno, cilantro, green ting and lime.

    Where: 1369 Dundas St W

    Short Turn

416 Snack Bar now has a cocktail counterpart just around the corner! (a short turn…haha get it?)

This spot is small but packs a punch, with Tay’s Coloda No.1 a perfect summer option.

The ingredients include Overproof Rum, Amari, strawberry cordial, lime and coconut cream.

There you have it! All the perfect summer cocktails to try in Toronto. Maybe space them out though, don’t get too ambitious.
