New cat cafe coming to Mississippi. See where you can sip, snack, adopt a furry friend today

    September 20, 2025

Looking for a day reading with a cat in your lap? Whether you’re looking for a new friend to adopt or are desperate for cuddles but live in a pet-free apartment, a cat cafe might be the answer.

A new one is opening in Mississippi later in 2025, but there’s already an option in the southern end of the state.

Here’s what to know about where you can find the upcoming cat cafe, where you can already sip coffee with a new feline companion.

Where will the new cat cafe be?

Look for Fancy Cat Cafe to open in Southaven around Thanksgiving. The concept will let cats roam free while guests enjoy drink or a meal.

It’ll be at 5048 Getwell Road.

Where can I already find a cat cafe in Mississippi?

Cattiesburg Cafe is at 5268 Old Highway 11, Suite 9, Hattiesburg. According to the Facebook page, hours are 1-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday; 1-9 p.m. Saturday; 1-6 p.m. Sunday and closed Monday-Tuesday.

The menu includes hot coffee or tea, frozen drinks, bottled water or canned drinks, sparkling water and snacks.

Don’t have time to visit a cat cafe? Don’t forget local shelters and humane societies near you have lots of great options.

That Cat Life, which maps cat cafes in the U.S., noted that The Twisted Whisker in Tupelo closed in September 2024. The business got more than 200 cats adopted during its tenure.
