Shriram AMC launches ‘Chhoti SIP’ with ₹250 monthly investment option

    August 10, 2025

Shriram Asset Management Company (Shriram AMC), part of the Shriram Group, has introduced the Shriram Chhoti SIP, enabling investors to start investing in mutual funds with as little as ₹250 per month.

The facility will be available under the Shriram Multi Asset Allocation Fund from August 11.

According to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), India had about 5.53 crore unique mutual fund investors as of June 2025, compared to the country’s population of over 145 crore.

Shriram AMC said the ‘Chhoti SIP’ aims to bridge this gap by encouraging first-time investors, particularly from underserved segments.

The option is open to all investors under the Growth plan of the scheme, with investments accepted through NACH or UPI autopay. It requires a minimum commitment of 60 instalments. For new investors—up to three asset management companies—the costs will be subsidised at the industry level.

‘Chhoti SIP’ will be available in both Statement of Account (SOA) and Demat modes, with monthly or fortnightly instalment frequencies. Registration requires only a mobile number.

Shriram AMC plans to use the Shriram Group’s network to expand access to mutual funds in Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities. Kartik Jain, MD & CEO of Shriram AMC, said the initiative aligns with the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s framework for low-ticket SIPs aimed at increasing inclusion in mutual fund investing.

Investors can register for the Chhoti SIP through the company’s website or by contacting Shriram representatives.
