A Cocktail Class
Get your DIY cocktail-making skills on at a Washington State Fair Garden to Glass event on April 20. Attendees will learn how to make home-grown cocktails and mocktails and will also sample a charcuterie box created by local vendor Roots Rocks Plants. Tickets are $85 and include admission to the spring fair, one two-plant planter, a complimentary cocktail or mocktail, a charcuterie box, and an herb cocktail demonstration. Food as Medicine
For $10, attend a fun and informative event at the Tacoma Urban League exploring the healing power of food led by women’s health professionals Karol Brown and Debbie Saint. The April 20 program will show you how to make tasty and nutritious meals that can boost your mental and physical health. Brown and Saint also will share their tips for incorporating healing foods into your daily meal plan. The workshop will be taught with a cultural emphasis on Black Americans and other communities of color who are disproportionately affected by issues like diabetes and hypertension. A Birthday Cake Workshop
Make a birthday cake this weekend — kind of. Artist Robert Mahar is hosting from 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. on April 20 at Seattle’s Monster Boutique a creative workshop where guests will embroider and embellish vintage birthday cake illustrations. Find out more about the event here.
