The LSA Club Presents ‘Sips of Thai’

    August 8, 2024

After a successful launch event earlier this summer, marking a significant moment for expats, entrepreneurs, and Thai internationals alike, The LSA Club hosted its first event of the series on August 6, 2024, at F*nkytown, Bangkok.

Staying rooted in Thai culture, upon arriving, participants received colour-coded flower garlands that separated them into groups, giving them the chance to shake off the workday and mingle with one another on a more personal level. The LSA Club members dove right in, sharing stories from what brought them to Thailand, to how long they’ve been here for, and most importantly, why Thailand stands out amongst other Southeast Asian countries for expats and internationals. This was followed by a fun game that tested the participants communication and team-building skills as they received Thai-themed keywords and had to come up with a story utilising all the words provided.

Though the event was 95% all about fun, the remaining 5% provided The LSA Club members with the chance to learn a few new things, including the history behind Thai liquor, and Thai liquor brands, courtesy of John Villanueva, Head Bartender at F*nkytown. This was followed by a speech from William Dibbayawan, Partnerships and Activations, Sarnies Group (Thailand and Singapore), as he spoke about his journey and highlighted the importance of building international relationships in a foreign country.

Though the competitive spirits settled by a tiny smidge, emcees Mookfee Nantanapramoth, and Lifestyle Asia Thailand’s very own Kook Chantan, kept attendees on their toes. Participants spent the night sipping on Thai-inspired cocktails, notably, the “Tom Kha Mule”, which was concocted exclusively for The LSA Club, and got to understand the stories behind the names of the cocktails and the intricate thought process that goes behind selecting these special ingredients.

The rest of the night was open to participants continuing to get to know each other better, and enjoying the delicious food and beverages provided by F*nkytown, and our partners at Penfolds.

The Sips of Thai event by The LSA Club was curated with the support of 79 Art Studio Company Limited.

The next event of The LSA Club will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at Take Eat Easy. To sign up or for more information, please click here.
