BELLEVUE, Wis. (WFRV) – Wisco Sips, a popular destination for drink connoisseurs in Brown County, has created a drink for Alzheimer’s Awareness and is donating some of the sales to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Co-owner Jennifer Hintz spoke with Local 5 News on the importance of Alzheimer’s awareness, a disease to which she has a personal connection.

“My grandma Rose Marie passed away from Alzheimer’s, so with the girls this morning, I was trying to think how long my family has been doing the walks, and I want to say it’s been since 2008 or longer,” explained Hintz.
Staff at Wisco Sips created a drink called ‘Clarity,’ to which the business will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association. The one-day Alzheimer’s Awareness event at Wisco Sips is the only day they’ll sell the drink, but Hintz says that may be extended.
“I was thinking about maybe [selling the drink] all week long or maybe even until September 7,” added Hintz.
September 7 is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
Small business support for Alzheimer’s awareness may seem like it has a minor impact, but for Wisco Sips, it’s so much more.
“I think it gives hope to end Alzheimer’s,” said Hintz. “Watching somebody go through it is just so heartbreaking, so I think that every little bit helps, and if this little bit helps to end it, I think that’s what we need to do because it’s a horrible disease.”
So far through the morning, Wisco Sips has seen a great turnout of customers who have purchased the drink, and they’re hoping more will come throughout the day.
“We have a lot of staff here to keep up with the flow, hopefully,” said Hintz. “All the support that we’ve already had this morning was so amazing. We didn’t know how it would go, but this morning’s support has been overwhelming, so thank you so much. The community is so awesome for supporting this; it means a lot to all of us.”
Those who purchase the Clarity drink will receive a placard on which they can write the name of somebody they know who is suffering from or has suffered from Alzheimer’s. Wisco Sips will post them all around the business.

“Hopefully, we fill all the walls here!” concluded Hintz.
Wisco Sips is open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but if you can’t get the Clarity drink on Tuesday, stop by on Wednesday, and the energetic staff will make you one.
