Select establishments in downtown Livermore are set to celebrate September’s California Wine Month with a new corkage waiver program called “Sip with Us Livermore.”
To take part in the pilot program, patrons are encouraged to bring a Livermore Valley wine to one of the 15 participating downtown eateries from Sept. 1-30. Locations include Cafe Calamari, Azotea – Cocina & Cocktail Club, Simply Fondue, First Street Alehouse and Sons of Liberty, among others.
“We are excited to be part of this pilot program and look forward to sipping through September with our community!” said Brandi Lombardi, executive director of the Livermore Valley Wine Community.
The effort aims to support the Livermore Valley Wine Region and downtown restaurants, organizers said in a statement announcing the program.
The program is the result of a collaboration between Alameda County District 1 Supervisor David Haubert, Livermore Downtown Inc. and the Livermore Valley Wine Community.
“By collaborating our marketing efforts we can encourage and incentivize Bay Area residents to shop Livermore local wines and dine with Livermore local restaurants to a much larger audience, making a bigger positive economic impact together,” said Ruby Lopez-Villarreal, executive director of Livermore Downtown Inc.
Haubert echoed similar sentiments.
“As the County Supervisor that oversees the beautiful Livermore Valley Wine Region and the thriving downtown Livermore food scene, I am pleased to connect these two economic drivers of our region and elevate collaboration between them through a partnership with Livermore Downtown Inc and the Livermore Valley Wine Community and their leaders and boards of directors,” he said.
As part of the program, only the first corkage fee can be waived and there may only be one fee waived per party.
