Moneycontrol Mutual Fund Summit 2025: GenZ at the forefront of the mutual fund revolution

    June 22, 2025

With India being home to 20% of the global GenZ population, they are the driving force for several disruptions across industries from banking to payments and investments. Raised on a one-way bull run and the GenZ mantra of financial independence and retire early (FIRE) dreams, this generation not only loves to spend but also create long-term wealth.

A recent survey revealed a tilt towards equities among Indian households, especially younger investors. Nearly 45% of those under 30 years of age now see equity as their primary investment. These Gen Z investors — despite having less than three years of market experience — have allocated over 70 percent of their portfolios to equities, the findings showed.

At HDFC Mutual Fund presents Moneycontrol Mutual Fund Summit 2025 powered by Axis Mutual Fund, we will look to decode the crucial role this tech-savvy generation is going to play in the run towards $1 trillion assets under management (AUM) by 2030.

However, a key question remains. Will they be able to survive a harsh wake-up call like Global Financial Crisis of 2008 or early 2000’s Dot-Com crash.

Also, in an era of infinite options and fleeting attention, how can digital-first advisors earn their long-term trust? How wealthtech platforms can build better investor behaviour and lasting relationships with the next generation of savers and investors? It’s time we explore these pressing questions and help them prioritise saving and investing mindfully.

In the fourth edition of the much anticipated Moneycontrol Mutual Fund Summit, market leaders and experts such as Amarjeet Singh, Whole Time Member, SEBI; Navneet Munot, MD & CEO of HDFC Asset Management Company; Sandeep Jethwani, Co-founder, Dezerv; Vishal Jain, CEO, Zerodha Fund House, and many others prominent names in the investment landscape are set to share insights on the path towards achieving $1 trillion AUM by 2030 through the lens of GenZ investors. With KFintech as the Knowledge Partner, the summit also aims to recognise the tireless efforts of India’s most trusted mutual fund distributors, who play a pivotal role in deepening investor trust and access.

Don’t miss out on the important role these active earners are playing in taking the nation forward at the upcoming HDFC Mutual Fund presents Moneycontrol Mutual Fund Summit 2025 on June 23 in Mumbai.
