Counseling Connections, which is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of counseling and therapy services, is hosting the event in partnership with several other businesses and organizations, according to the release.
Proceeds from the event will go to the HOPE Fund, which provides free and reduced counseling services to those who are uninsured or at-need, according to the organization’s website.
“Mental health continues to be the basis of every human problem we are facing today whether it is homelessness, violence, crime, abuse, food insufficiency, etc.,” Counseling Connections CEO Dawn Lawless said in the release. “Suicide rates are at record highs.”

Tickets are $15 and include chicken, sausage, the latter of which is provided by Kiolbassa, and sides, which are provided by Central Texas Bar-B-Q, according to the release. The barbecue offered comes from Houston-based Bottomless Pit.
In the past 11 years, Counseling Connections has provided more than $2.1 million in free and reduced services through the HOPE Fund, according to the release.

The event will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lions Club of Pearland, 3350 S. Main St., Pearland, according to the release.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, according to the release. Among those includes Memorial Hermann, which officials announced Oct. 1 as a premier sponsor.
