By The Woodlands Area Quilt Guild | August 15, 2024

The Woodlands Area Quilt Guild (WAQG) is excited to announce that $6,000 was awarded to the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a non-profit that builds beds and supplies new bedding to children in Montgomery County who do not have a bed of their own. Mike Fortner, Chapter President, and his wife Jennifer accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

To date this year the guild has also supplied 33 handmade quilts and bedding sets to the organization. “Our guild is delighted to support the mission of SHP because we know how important a special ‘blanket’ can be to a child, especially one who has never had a bed of their own,” states Mary Ellen Wahlheim, Guild President.
