Silent auction, raffles to raise funds for the Animal Rescue Alliance on October 25th – The Donalsonville News

    October 17, 2024

The Animal Rescue Alliance is holding a second anniversary fund-
raising event on Friday, October  25 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will be held at the Beall Center located next door to the Donalsonville News on Cherry Street in downtown Donalsonville.

The event  will feature a fundraising auction of products and baskets of items which include a skeet shoot, a quail hunt, cabin stay, gift cards, gift baskets, art work, and many products and  services by local merchants.

During the auction a Henry Golden 22 long rifle, American Farm Edition, valued at $1,200 and donated by Cannon Armory, will be raffled off to one lucky winner.

Raffle tickets for the rifle are $25 each, and the winning ticket will be drawn at the October 25th event.

Raffle tickets are also being sold for the chance to win one quarter of a cow and its processing costs. You will have four chances to win with one ticket purchase of $50 each.

Tickets for both raffles are available from any Animal Rescue Alliance board member, employee, or directly from the shelter during regular business hours.  Tickets will be sold for both raffles until 7:30 p.m. at the Beall Center the night of the auction.

You can also purchase tickets online at aralliancega.com (click donation button and add note for which raffle you are entering).

If you would like to donate an item to our auction, please contact us at 229-992-2039.

If you have something to donate and wonder if it is suitable to bid on, note that we used some donated items last year as door prizes for lucky recipients!

If you cannot donate an item or attend, but would like to help our shelter by providing financial support, you may do so securely on our web site: aralliancega.com. You may also mail or bring a check to 2645 GA 91 S., Donalsonville GA 39845.

Animal Rescue Alliance’s Carol Williams commented, “Everyone is invited to come out, enjoy the evening, and to help us raise some funds for the shelter and the animals in need. We do not receive regular municipal funding from either Miller or Seminole counties, so we rely heavily on donations from private individuals, corporate sponsorships, and the occasional grant. We’re proud of the work we’re doing in our community, advocating for unwanted or abandoned animals. We have never euthanized for space.

Please consider donating an item, or supporting us financially. But definitely make plans to stop by our auction. It should be a wonderful evening.”

The Animal Rescue Alliance shelter, a registered 501c3 charity, is located at 2645 Georgia Highway 91, just north of Donalsonville. The shelter is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 10-4 and can be reached by calling 229-992-2039.
