LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT/TBP) – A few Northeast Arkansas cities will get more funds to improve their communities.
According to Talk Business and Politics, the Delta Regional Authority announced on Monday, Oct. 28, that more than $5 million will be invested into four projects in Arkansas. Three of those are in Northeast Arkansas.
The recipients include the following:
Pocahontas – $1.9 million for upgrades that will provide sufficient capacity and water services for current and future economic and residential growth.
Paragould – $872,600 for a transportation project to extend an existing rail spur to a local industry that has pledged to create 20 jobs because of this infrastructure investment.
Trumann – $762,000 to renovate the city’s water system to ensure the ongoing service of potable water to existing residents and businesses while also ensuring the system can support future residential and industrial growth.
This comes after it was announced on Oct. 15 that three other projects in Northeast Arkansas would receive funding from the DRA, totaling nearly $1.4 million.
