Tour de Broads cyclists raising funds for Nelson’s Journey

    August 2, 2025

Nelson’s Journey is the nominated charity for the Tour de Broads for the fourth consecutive year. The cycling event takes place on Sunday, August 17, starting at Octagon Business Park in Little Plumstead.

Riders can take part for free if they meet a fundraising target, with a donation from each entry also going to the charity.

Among those taking part is 12-year-old Frank Spauls, from Cringleford, who is riding the full 100-mile route and has already raised more than £1,900.

Frank, who began cycling four years ago, said: “This will be a big challenge for me.”

He added: “Nelson’s Journey helped me think about my mum and different ways to remember her.”

Also taking part is six-year-old Poppy Nelson, who is tackling the five-mile family route, and nine-year-old Harry Tarling, who is riding 25 miles in memory of his dad’s sister.

The Tour de Broads includes 100, 75, 50 and 25-mile options, plus a five-mile family ride.
